New Member Brake Question
My daughter has a 1994 Honda Civic EX. The brake pads were replaced and rotors turned last September. The brakes seemed to stop the vehicle O.K. but travel on the pedal seemed to be excessive. I took it back to the mechanic who checked it and said the pedal travel was within limits.
This week we had the master cylinder replaced. Again, the car seems to stop pretty good, but the pedal travel seems like a lot to me. I know pedal travel is different on vehicles. Can anyone tell me how much pedal travel is normal for a 1994 Civic? Maybe I am worried about nothing.
Thanks for any input.

if its within the factory limits it should be fine. if you are still worried about it, go to a local import performance shop, and get some braided steel Goodridge brake lines for it. they wont expand like the stock rubber ones, so it takes some slack out of the system. about 120-140 bucks. plus install if you dont want to do it yourself.
where are you located?

its been awhile since ive driven a stock one, but it seems to me that there is quite a bit of travel. where in Kansas? maybe someone here who is competent can change those lines for you a lot cheaper than a shop.
I've done 7, yeah thats right, 7 in the last two weeks. I checked out my Hayne's manual when i did my car (99 EX), and it turns out the factory recommended play is 1/4 - 2/3 of an inch. So you may want to have it looked at, better safe than sorry ya know?
