Default noise from the front driver side....is it brakes or else?

Hi all.....
I have been noticing a squeeking sound/noise coming from the whhel area on driver side of my 97 dx when I turn left only and at the same time when I push on the brake pedal.
The weirdest thing is that it goes away after 10 mins that I have been driving!
What can it be? Sounds like I need to replace my pads but what it concerns me is the squeeking repetitive noise when I turn.
Thank you in advance..

I'll take the car to the mechanic tomorrow morning...
Is tha possibile that even if brakes are not applied that the car still makes that scratching metal kind of noise?

yeah, its not the ordinary, but it does happen. esp if they are really worn out.
