Default proportioning valve

I am looking for a proportioning valve for my 91 civic with rear drum brakes . Does anybody know where a good place to buy it would be? I'm trying to fix my drivers side brake grabbing and don't really know if that will fix it but in the Hayes it says might be it, so I was thinking about trying to just get a used one to see if that is the problem since it's so expensive through the dealer. Has anybody else had to change one of these before? Is there a way to see if the valve is bad without changing it, or a way to fix it?
Thanks
