that's fine man, but yeah, they receive rave reviews for some reason, but really, they're not incredible, just sub-par tires. they'll do you fine, don't worry about.

i'll see what these tires can do, hope they are decent. just wondering i went from the stock tires 185/65-14 to 195/60-14, can i just mount the tires onto the rims or do i need to do something else to them so that the tires don't wear out quickly.

Anyone know what psi i should put into the new tires. i got hx rims stock tire size is 185/65-14 and i am replacing it with 195/60-14. the tire pressure on the door jam reads 29 and 30, i believe. should i go with factory tire pressure? or is their a different tire pressure i need to go with

if you use a tire size calculator and compare all 3 tires, the 195/60/15's (0.2" smaller total tire diameter than current tires) sidewall is closer than the 195/65/15's (0.4" larger total tire diameter than current tires) in size to the 185/65/15's

The 195/60/15s are a closer match. sure they're a tiny bit smaller sidewall, but it's not that noticeable in sidewall size difference, and will have the speedometer closer to correct. if he is lowered, i would suggest not going bigger on the sidewall... it might not matter though since they're 15s and are narrower than say a 17 inch rim/tire.

Hello all,

So, as mentioned in the above thread, i decided to get new tires of size 195/60/15 to replace 185/65/15 tires. I took the new tires to walmart for them to put them on my rims but they refuse. They said were worried about liability because they are putting on tires that were not standard to my Honda Civic Lx ( canadian) stock tires. Can anyone explain why? Has there been any problems if the tire size is a little out of spec than original? Also like to note that my civic is used as a "family" car which as 2 child seats in back. Should I be worried if the new tires sizes do not match the original tire size?

Thanks.

Hey I have a similar question about rim sizes and what would work. I have a stock 2002 civic sedan, and next spring I'm gonna get a new set of rims and tires for the spring\summer\fall. I was originally thinking of getting 17 inch rims, but from a few thigns I've read 16's are the way to go. What should I do? I still want it to look great too, and have performance, so I'm kind of stuck, what i really need are pictures to compare, can't find anything on 2002 sedan's lol.

16s will look good

I have 17s, so look in my picture album for an example of how 17s will look (I also have a 1.8" drop)

As long as the load rating is at least as high as the OEM's and the diameter of the tire is within an inch or so, there shouldn't be a problem. Take your car to a tire shop, but call ahead of time to verify that they will install your tires.
