i have 17"s wrapped on 205/40/17's along with Tein S-Techs and hardly ever rub. You could get 16"s in the same tire size, its up to you about if oyu want 16"s or 17"s in regards to their looks and ride quality.

Go big or go home.
Get the 17's. They look beautiful.
You shouldn't have any problems as long as you get low profile tires.

I had a 94 coupe. 17x7 +45 offset 205/40. Lowered shy of 2 inches. perfect.

I have a '94 coupe with 17x7's (+45mm offset) lowered... well, let my avitar tell the story

The front rubbed around slow turns, but that's physically unavoidable when you're tucking .5" of the front tires

As long as you get 205/40-17 tires and the wheels have an offset of +38mm or greater, you shouldn't have any problems.

yeah I'm running 205/40/17's and I was thinking about getting it lowered some, but didn't want it to rub at all.
