Default Suspension help

I got a new set of rims 2 years ago and when I put them on and go above 60mph the steering wheel starts to shake. It shook less when the rims were new but now it's horrible. It doesn't shake if I'm on my stock rims. I'm not sure if the rims need rebalancing or what. The tires are in good condition so I don't think it's the tires. Could it be that I need to align my car? I only put these rims on during the summer. Any help would be great.

Look into some concentric wheel rings. They're a little plastic ring that fits around the hub of your brakes and fills the gap between the hub in the brakes and that of the wheels.

Sounds like your wheels need to be balanced. It's not your car if the steel wheels run fine.
Sometimes a tire can go a bit outa shape with age (especially if they sit thru a season), and that will cause some shake.

The first thing you should do is check the tire pressure. If its even a little low it will make them shake

when you go from a stock rim to bigger rims especially 17 you need to do alignment. Also it could be that the wheel and rim might need to be re blance.

Thanks guys, I think I'll do an alignment first, if it doesn't work, then I'll balance my wheels and if that doesn't work then I'll come back and complain ... by the way, does coilover play a factor?

if the wheels correctly fit.... then it can only be a out of balanced wheel, or broken belt in the tire. or if you live in a place like maine, then it could be mud stuck in the wheel...

It has nothing to do with changing the wheel size, only when messing with suspension or the occasional "tune"

it has to be a bent rim or something. either a rim is damaged, or out of balance. get them balanced first thing.
