Tein S, Wheels Questions
Hey all,
I'm getting this deal on a set of buddy club P1 SF 16s gunmetal with 205/40/16 or 205/45/16. My questions are:
Is 765 shipped a good price? This is the tire spec:
205/40ZR16
Nexen N3000
AA Traction A Temp.
340 Treadwear.
40mm offset
My second question:
Since I'm planning on lowering with Tein S with stock shocks. What would you guys reccomend? the 205/45s or 205/40? I'm trying to avoid rubbing when it comes to sharp turn.
Thanks in advance,
Dan
BTW pics will come soon...
EDIT: I'm going to have the springs installed by the shops locally. How much do you think it should cost to replace my stock springs with tein S? A rough estimate will be good.
TIA

RE: Tein S, Wheels Questions
sounds good to me and thats a dam good price for tires and rims shipped,wow...for the rubbing issue you going with 16" so i dont think you will have to worry but just incase go with 205/40, you could go with the 45 also, i no i hear alot of people saying with 17" you need to get 40 because 45 will rub somtimes..but since is 16 i think you will be fine eather way
..tein's , you wont be dissipointed..i had them for about 10 months now with stock shocks, very happy

RE: Tein S, Wheels Questions
Thanks bro,
I'm just deciding between the 40/45 because I want it to look more agressive, while diminishing more of the wheel gap. But I really might just go with the 40s to take proper precautions. It'll suck if they do rub ever so slightly .
But thanks for your input. I'mma see if I can get this new project started soon. From stock---to....
BTW, Do any of you guys have pics of a civic with these buddy clubs p1s? I've been searching everywhere.
And how much do you think installation for the springs should cost? a fair price range?
TIA
Dan

16s are lighter and easier on your engine than 17s, but theyre bigger than the stock 14s, so you get more length out of one rotation so potentially a faster car. a lot lies on what they are made out of. there are some wheels out there that are made for race, not show, but look really good anyway, but theyre made out of light aluminium or whatever and are bigger than the steelies, but just as light if not lighter. they usually come in 16s.
and 16s just look better IMO. plus you get a smoother ride.

Then again, with 15's it'll handle even better. Here in the uk though the more tyre you have the better - the roads are shockingly bad!! Im seeing more and more modified cars with small wheels, which must be a good thing... Make your car handle, its no good looking good if the wheels cant stay on the ground!

RE: Tein S, Wheels Questions
well the thing is 15s are hardly big enough over stock to make too much of a performance difference. the thing about a bigger wheel is you get more distance from one rotation. but its only better to a point. after about 17 inches it puts unneccessary wear on your engine.
