TIRE AFFECT?
I plan on mountin g some performance Falken tires on my 15 inch rims, and i am wondering, since i had winter tires on the rims right now, will these low profile performance tires lower my ride at all, and will it affect the suspension, or should i get bigger wheels with low profile tires?
if it snows alot in ur area then i'd prolly get some thicker profile tires...but ya lower profile tires will lower the car, but it'll barely be noticeable...ride quality will also suffer. driving with my steelies(185/65-14) its very smooth compared to my tires on now(195/50-15).
ok, ill explain this a little better, i kind of rushed the first time, now here is my situation. Right now as i type this, i have P185/65/R15 BFGoodrich winter slalom tires mounted on 15inch honda racing aluminum wheels, on my 2002 4dr honda civic. I would like to mount these winter tires to some stock winter steel black wheels to save my aluminum wheels. Now as u can see, these tires are winter purpose only, so the black winter rims and the BF tires mounted takes care of the winter/snow season, which is soon approaching, but that leaves me with some honda racing 15inch aluminum wheels with no rubber. So what i want to do is get some summer(dry/wet) weather tires for these aluminum wheels i will not be using in winter. I dont want all-season really because i already have snow/ice tires/rims, so here is the question better writen. I have 4, 15inch aluminum honda racing wheels that i would like to mount some type of summer tire only, i was thinking of mounting some Falken ZIEX ZE512 performance tires, and these tires do match my BFGoodrich winter slalom tires with the size being (P185/65/R15, for the Falkens) so i think they will fit. The only problem is that they look a bit lower profile then the winter tires, so i am wondering how this will look and perform, will they fill the wheel wells decently? Perform well? The website to view the tires is www.kaltire.com If u guys have other recommendations for some well performing tires i would appreciate it, or if u know of any good all season tires, although i would rather have a summer tire. Thanks guys for any help!
that's much better.
Your plan sounds fine. if you get the same size tires they won't be lower profile. you're probably just looking at some sample photo that's not supposed to be a specific tire size

o, ok, thanks mxs for the help, i thought mabey it was the photo, by the way, i thought u guys might like the full detail right up. One last wuestion, do u or anyone u now run tires that aren't low profile and still get that good traction and such? Are low pro tires somewhat a visual appearence too?
