Default Tire increase in size

Hi everyone I am new to this forum and have a question?
I own a 1997 civic ex sedan With a B16 V-tech motor, The problem is that the personwho I bought the car from installed the motor but the gear box was installed however it is 10km per hour slower so if I want to do 50 I have to due 60 on my gauage. I want to know if I can increase the tire size to compensate for the 10km, Right now I am running on 16" rims with 205/40/r16 tire but am going to buy17"rims.
If anyone knows the tire size I would be gratefull
Thanks

Default RE: Tire increase in size

if you stay with the 16 rims I think the correct tire size would be a 205/45/16. if you go to a 17 I think it would be a 205/40/17.Best place to ask would be a tire shop to get the correct size.
