If this calculator is correct, I should get 215/40-18

At 60mph on my speedo, I would actually be going .2mph slower than displayed. That's pretty close.

BUT It's .4 inches wider than stock. The bottom cup where the front springs sit looks pretty close to the factory tire. If the tire were any wider, it looks as if it would rub the bottom cup.

Does ANYONE else out there have 18x8"s on a new civic?!?

 

Yes 215/40R18 is almost exact same size as stock. Remember that the extra tire width is on each side of the tire. So it's just 5mm on each side of the tire. Most vehicles should be able to accomodate a tire 10mm wider than stock. If you're worried just try to measure if you have the extra 5mm clearance.

 

im 93.27% sure that that tire size should work in the new civics.

 

Depending on the dimensions and offset of the new wheels, this isn't necessarily going to be true.

 

My 06 is runnin 18x8 +42mm offset, with a 225/40/18
