Default TMPS Sensor Concerns for new Rims

Having justpurchased a 2008 Civic LX with stock wheels and covers, I am hoping to upgrade to some light, nice looking rims that will accommodate my TMPS sensor system.
When looking at "H and A - Assessories", I noticed that the 2008 rims were considerably more expensive than those for the 2007 and older. (about $100 per rim) It seems that it is due to the TMPS sensors.

If I purchase aftermarket rims will they accommodate my existing TMPS sensors, or will I be, in effect, disenabling my TMPS system?

Also, does anyone know the weight of the 16" stock wheels and covers on the 2008 Civic LX?

Thanks
