Default Trailing Arm Bushing Extraction

I have a question. When extracting the rear trailing arm bushings which way do I push them out? I see the tapered edge so that's the side they were pushed in on. Do I push them out the opositie direction they were pushed in, or can I simply push them through?

Thanks
