i own a honda civic 5 door 2001
i want to chnge the wheels and put alloy wheels
the manual of the car saids that i need 14x5,5 or 15x6 wheels
a guy in a garage told me that the car can have bigger wheels too eg. 14x6 or 15x6,5 and that manualbools always recommend wheel specs for original honda wheels not for aftermarket wheels. Is he right?

Yes, you can have larger wheels, it will just mean that you need tires with a lower profile, i.e. "thinner."
