Default YAY Finally!!!

After about a year and 1/2 of sitting in my living room, my RSR springs are gonna get some use. I ordered a set of Tokico HPs today, so I'm hoping to get them in within two weeks. Also found that Energy Suspension makes urethane motor mounts for the D17 so I picked up a pair of those since in replacing my CPS I'm going to have to take the engine off a couple mounts, figured why not put some urethane mounts in there, they were only $30.

Anyway back to suspension, I'm debating whether to do the springs/shocks myself or pay a mech, I've never done springs before but I got a buddy who changed his own on his 7th gen Si. I could use to save the money. I'd really like your feedback as to whether I should change them myself w/ some help, or let a mech do it.

well...i got someone i no do it at a performance shop and he charged me a quarter of the price they would charge, if i knew someone who knew how to do it..i would do it myself, i cant say it easy because i would need someone there to walk me through it, but from what i helped out with at the shop, a couple bolts and your done..it looked incredibly easy, took him like 20min to change all 4 springs

It's a fairly self explanitory install. I almost never know how to do something when I start a project, that's half the fun of doing it

its pretty self explanitory. basically you loosen it at the top so the spring decompresses when you jack it up (or you can get spring compressors and jack it up and THEN unscrew it), then unscrew it from the LCA, take the upper collar off, compress the new spring, and put it on your new suspension. put everything back in.

grats on the new shocks btw. it seems like everyon eon this forum are getting HPs lately.

Its pretty easy, but i would find a shop with a spring compressor so you can assemble the struts. Or you could rent one from autozone. Only reason i said to find a shop is b/c if you put the spring on incorrectly you will have problems having it fit.
