4 to 5spd swap in a 89 3dr civic
89 civic 3dr non SI
OK due to GAS hikes I am putting in the stock 1.5 back in the car and I was wouldering what 5spd will fit with no probs. it came with a 4spd (canadian model)and I just would like the extra gear for highway use.
thanks

actually the hf tranny would be the best for fuel mileage, and the si would be best for driving performance. the dx is in the middle and is a good choice also and easy to find
guess i shoulod have said for me the si would be the best ... lol

did this same exact swap about a month and a half ago.. worked out great! Funny thing is I was much easier to find a cheaper 5 spd.. lol the 4 speeds seemed to be quite a bit more expensive when I was looking to replace my tranny ( my 4 spd was shot)
Good luck
