94 5 speed tranny in a 98, will it work?

Default 94 5 speed tranny in a 98, will it work?

i have a 98 honda civic i want to change it because its bad but i cant find a trany in the years of 96-00. will a older tranny like a 94 work on my non vtech motor?plz help asap.

the motor doesnt matter as long as its a D motor and D tranny from 92-00
only difference is probably on a automatic tranny... BUT if its a 5speed manual then its a very easy swap!
no idea if its a automatic tranny tho sorry.
tho the 96-00 5speed trannys do have alittle better internal parts. but as lng as you dont abuse the tranny slamming the gears it should hold up just as good.

I swapped a 92 CX tranny into my 96 LX with no issues.
