Recently I noticed that my automatic 98 Civic LX was shifting hard. The hard shifting mostly occurs from 1st to 2nd and again on engine braking. I took it into the shop and got the transmission fluid flushed (105k miles and have never done anything to the transmission before). That seemed to fix it for about 2 weeks... now I notice it doing it again. The tech told me that there was a Honda bulletin out regarding the transmission and it suggested replacing the solenoid. Does this seem right? Has anyone else experienced this problem or know where I can find said bulletin?

My trans shifts hard from Park to Reverse and from D4 to Reverse. No idea what the problem is. I asked my teacher about it and he said the disconnect teh shifter from the trans and see if the problem is still there. This will tell you if the shifter is bad or if it is something in the transmission.
