Default 98 civic/hard shifting 5 speed

I drive a 98 civic 5sp manual. It just turned 100k and quite suddenly,I'm experiencing difficulty in shifting. It's quite bad when downshifting,to the point that I have to double clutch at times and even then,it's hard to get it into the next gear. It's not near as bad when upshifting through the gears and it gets better as the car gets warm. The tranny fluid only has about 17k on it.Do you think another fluid change would help and if so,should I stick with the Honda manual tranny fluid? Also,is there any history of manual tranny problems in this vehicle?I've owned a couple of civics and always thought them to be very durable.

Do change the fluid. I wouldn't go 17K on it...
