Default 98 dx tranny/input shaft problem

I have been reading this and other forums for a while now and based on what I've read it sounds like I have a bad input shaft bearing. My symptoms are as followed...When in gear, after I left off the clutch and start moving I immediatly start hearing a grinding sound. I can press the clutch in and it goes away. There is also no noise in neutral. Would yall agree that its the input shaft bearing? And if so, is it smarter to replace the bearing or the entire tranny? I can't seem to find a clear answer to that question.

Thanks

It sound like your shaft bearing.. if you know how to change the bearing and take apart the tranny then it'll be cheaper than buying another used tranny.. if you were local in the Bayarea, i could rebuild it for you.

ISB bearing for sure. The bearing itself is like $25, however getting to it is all sorts of good fun.
