Another Clutch question
Been searching, and found lots of info, but I have a couple questions. First, just got a 2000 Si, 97K on the odo. The clutch grabs very far out, like almost all the way out. Although it shifts fine, no grinding, it doesn't seem to grab very well. So I think I need a new one, but isn't 97K a little short for clutch life? Guess it depends on the driver, just seems low to me. Maybe not.
Second, looking online I see most of the clutch kits (at least on flea bay) come with a flywheel too. Is there something about Honda flywheels that they can't be resurfaced, or do people just like to upgrade so they sell the kits with new flywheels? I am fine with a stock-type setup, perhaps a little more grab to it, but nothing too major, no mads planned. Do I need to get a new flywheel or can I resurface the stock one?
Thanks in advance.

i got my stage one from ebay and blew after 3 or 4000 miles.. don't get it there if u pay the money it will be worth it....and about u'r 97k question. you'r clutch should be ok for awhile, if you strat feeling the slip or slite trouble shifting then its time.
Cool, thanks. Probably get a good brand clutch when it's time, but you think it may have some life left in it? It doesn't seem to slip, but it doesn't seem to grab very well either.
If you don't like how far out the clutch is just take it to a garage and get it adjusted. As for the fllywheel they are able to be resurfaced. And a bit advice for when/if your clutch goes pay someoen to replace it if you havent done it before cause I'm doing mine now and there are so many things that can go wrong and overall its just a lot of work, good learning experience though.
didn't think it was adjustable since it is hydraulic?
I think I can do the clutch myself, did the one in my 94 pathfinder, and it sucked, but I think I can handle it in the civic. Did the headgasket, timing belt, water pump and radiator in my CRX, so I have an idea, plus I've got the Mitchel-On-Demand CD which is VERY helpful.
