Default Automatic shifiting sounds....near the end?

I'm not going to lie. [sm=smiley7.gif]I have a 99 Civic Sedan DX and haven't treated it well in terms of overuse of the accelerator. I slam the pedal to the floor from a running start from time to time just for fun. Now my transmission makes an audible snaping flappingsound only when i floor it from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th. If I gradually accelerate, it doesn't make the sound. Is it near the end for my transmission? Could a transmission flush be my only problem ? I checked the tranny fluid levels and everything is a o k from that point. How much do automatic transmissions go for ? used ? is it a weekend project or a long ordeal ? Please post opinions and comments. I don't blame you if you flame me for thrasing my tranny. I knew I should've been more conservative. Civic trannies are definitley not meant for racing, unless you swap it for a more durable high performance one. [sm=feedback.gif]

You can pick one up used for about $200-300. It can be a weekend project with the right tools...about 5-8 hours without air tools.

I'm not a transmission expert, but I'm going to say you're tranny is calling it quits... civic trannies are pretty cheap... I'd say a few hundred, and you can replace it yourself with a little knowledge or a good manual... if I were you, I'd just use this as an excuse to do an auto/manual swap.
