Clutch Vendors??? Which one???
SO in all honesty what I'm understanding from what you are saying is that 6 pucks are the least of a PITA, with 4 pucks higher in the pecking order, and unsprung disks at the top?
Yea...but I might have gotten 4 and 6 puck mixed up in the feeling...I don't remember how that 4-puck felt on my friends hatch....but I do remember a 6-puck on my sisters Cavie and that felt horrible...and I'm not the worst driver in the world...
OK Kol, I know you aren't a fan of the D series engines, but for a N/A D series engine with a stage 2 cam, upgraded injectors, fuel pump, FPR, forged pistons, rods rings, valvetrain, and nitrous(100-200 shot once all internals and sleeving was done) would it be worth the money to spend on an ACT 4 or 6 puck or an Exedy Cerametallic? Or should I drop down to an organic cluctch kit?
IF you dont think youll mind it the 6 puck wouldnt be to bad, so long as it is sprung hub. I used to have that set up in my old Si, but I just resurfaced the flywheel. What are you thinking about for the flywheel?

Where did you get that idea??? I don't give a damn about engine swaps and I'm a big fan of my Z6 which isn't going anywhere until it's up to at least 250whp.

As of now it's looking like an Exedy cerametallic (thin) clutch kit and Fidanza flywheel.
I can tell you my experience with a 6-puck clutch in my old twin turbo 300zx. I got a RPS max series 6-puck clutch when i blew my old one, got an amesome deal from one of the best Z tuners in the USA. It added i think about an extra 500 lbs of clamping force. I basically had to relearn how to drive a stick and it took me about a week of driving to get used to it. It was still streetable but after an hour of city driving my leg would start to hurt. The thing i loved is that this clutch NEVER SLIPPED. I have roughly 375-400 horses at the rear and i could rev up to 6000 rpms and dump the clutch and it would grip and never let go, just wish i had tires that could do the same every single time
. Even though it was a hassle sometimes for regular driving I will still buy this brand for my next Z or maybe a carbon twin disk if i have the bucks. I also have a buddy that has a 500+ TT 300ZX and he has the same clutch and it holds it all. Hope that help alittle.
