what year SI? I dont know if any SI's are D series, and usually trannies arent interchangable between series (B, D, H, K, etc.)

Yeah, if you mean Si as in D16Z6.

i stand corrected

85-87 SI's = D15a3
88-91 SI's = D16a6
92-95 SI's = D16z6 (your best bet, as it is your same engine)

so the stocktransmission in my 94 ex is an si transmission? or is there a 94 civic si model also. i want the si tranny for its gear ratios. i have the d16z6 and i think my snychro is shot so it would almost be cheaper to buy a newer tranny instead of rebuilding mine

The z6/y8 tranny's (EX)are the best D series trannys. Those motors are called Si like in Canada and elsewhere (I believe). The A6 will mate up, but it's cable.

By default, when I see or hear "Si" I always assume someone is speaking of the B16.

both the 94 EX and SI have a z6 in them, not sure how the gear ratios of the two trannies are compared to one another, but the trannys are interchangable as far as i know.

^ It's the same car. The transmissions are the same as well.

and that's where you're wrong jack... i've been looking into it, i'm thinking about an H22 with either a GSR tranny or my current tranny off my d16y7 when they finish up the adaptor kit. then i'll be looking at 200 or so ponies with a worthy tranny.

sry for the threadjack, just had to point out

Umm, what? You are gonna use your D tranny with an H22? or maybe a GSR? I would like to see that.
