Default Dropping the Transaxle

I posted this in the Tech forum but am posting it here too...

I am changing the clutch in my wife's recently purchased '94 Del Sol that has 100,000 hard miles on the clock.

The two trans mount bolts that are on either side of the clutch slave cylinder are being very difficult to remove. I removed the top one using ratchet and a cheater bar, however the bolt's threads were buggered and had metal debris in them from the block. I easily broke the bottom one loose, but almost immediately it started binding up like the top one did. I soaked them in Liquid Wrench and giving it time to work, but it didn't seem to do much on the first bolt.

I have never worked on a Honda before, though I have years of shade-tree work on everything from Ford to Porsche, am I missing something? Is there a trick to backing-out those particular bolts? (heat? treat? prayer?)

Thanks in advance!

im not very knowledgeable on this but my guess is that maybe the weight from the tranny is stressing the bolts?is the tranny supported by a jack or hoist or something?

That it is and I was still having to use a 2 foot cheater bar to get the first one out. 2 feet! I am over 200 lbs, times 2 feet is 400 ft lbs. That ain't right, so I am guessing I just have some buggered up, seized up bolts, eh?

yeah they are seized up. try to use a bit of torch heat to heat them up. and when you reinstall them, use antisieze.
