Default EX Trans Vs. V-Tech Trans

Is there a difference between an EX transmissions and a V-TECH transmission?

lol, there is no such this as a VTEC trans. The only part of the engine that is/has VTEC is the head. Every other part is just normal. There is however a difference between EX/Si transmission and the others DX, LX, CX, HX, VX... The EX/Si transmissions are "better".

and it deffinately isnt a "V-TECH" i am pretty sure its a "V-TEC".

come on burner... ...the EX/Si (B000- large bearing) transmissions are NOT VTEC.
Yes, they are intended for use with the D16Z6 (92-95 EX/Si) and D16Y8 (96-00 EX) blocks and heads, in which, the heads are VTEC.

And yes, the DX, LX, VX, CX,... transmissions (A000 - small bearing) are intended for use with the non-VTEC blocks and heads.

BUT... ...there is nothing stopping anyone from using any of the d-series transmissions on any of the d-series blocks/heads (with the A6 engine being THE ONLY exception).
