Default how difficult is replacing trans?

how difficult would replacing a d-series automatic transmission be without a lift? would I need any special tools, or could I bolt it right on? any links to DIY threads anyone has come accross?

well it's a lot of work. if you can go a week to two weeks without it and you have a large set of tools go for it. Week to two weeks is for a veryyyyy inexperienced tech. With some experience maybe a weekend. I did one in a day, all depends on your tools and experience. I advise pulling the engine to replace the trans, it will just make it easier to do most of the work.
