input shaft question
You have to take the transmission apart to change the input shaft since it is located at the front of the tranmission (on the inside). If the throw out bearing is bad, there will be a sound when you press the clutch pedal in. If the input shaft bearings are bad there will be a sound when ever the clutch is not pressed in.
the bearings on the input shaft are cheap, but the shaft itself is worth pretty much same cash as a used tranny, so if it's the bearings, crack it open and replace them....crack it open anyways, just to see how easy it is. Than replace the bearings (bout $10-15 each) and put it back together.
