We have owned 4 consecutive Civics. Each of them has been a reliable vehicle with one exception. All of them had transmission issues and or failures.

Our current Civic, a 2008 EX Sedan with auto trans has had a downshift into first gear when coming to a stop issue since the day we drove it off the lot, brand new.

Took it to the dealer twice. Each time they said, "we realize that there is an issue but it is not serious enough to to take action". The service manager told us to hope it fails while it is still under warranty...

Is that the kind of service we should be expecting from Honda?

This will be OUR LAST Honda EVER!!!

 

Have you written a letter to corporate?

 

No I haven't. I'm extremely busy and I believe this should have been handled appropriately by the service manager. The vehicle is now out of power train warranty but perhaps I should write them anyway.
