my tranny will not let me shift into first unless i come 2 a complete stop, if im rolling at like 4 mph it still wont let me go into first, is this normal??

 

its normal if you have an EF...that was very common of the transmissions in the 88-91 civic's& crx's

It is just a safety feature. My mom's 03 won't let me do it either. Remember that video where the guy was on the strip and accidentally shifted into 1st from 2nd gear and he did an endo? Well thats what they are trying to prevent you from doing. Although I don't thing you can do and endo at 4 miles an hour.
