Default Possible Transmission Problem - Help Please

I have a 2000 Honda Civic DX. The car only has 69,000 miles. In the upper rpms of first gear it makes a weird noise. Its almost like a grind/whining noise. I have read that this may be bearings problems in the transmission, however I can not justify this in a car with under 70,000 miles. I'm going to change my fluids tonight or tomorrow and see if this makes a difference. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Use Honda Manual Transmission Fluid. It's better for the transmission due to the detergents it has in it.
