how much do they want for the trans ? we might be able to find you a better deal.
I'm not sure, hopefully I can go there this weekend and ask about it. I'll post the price when I can. My Dad talked to his mechanic who said he wouldn't recommend using his transmission guy because he hasn't had a lot of experience with Honda transmissions which are, according to him, quite "touchy" to work on. So maybe replacing it would be the better route to take.

I'm dropping it off at a transmission place tomorrow and they're going to drive/test it to see what's going on. I should have a diagnosis by Monday night, hopefully.

The transmission place said we should do a full rebuild and that it would come with a 3 year/75,000 mile warranty. They said it would be on the lower end of a $2300-2700 price tag. What should I do? The budget (which neither my parents or myself could afford right now) for another car would be $4000 and that car will likely have some problems. I've already done quite a bit to this car and I wouldn't get much if I sold it right now right? A car with a KBB "fair" value of about $2500 wouldn't be worth nearly that if its transmission needs a rebuild right?
