Rough downshifting? please help!
Hey guys I recently bought a 2007 silver EX (automatic). Is it normal that new '07 civics downshift consistently when slowing down? Also, when I'm slowing down and hit about 5mph, the downshift from 2nd to 1st jerks the car somewhat and almost feels like a light brake shutter. It's been like this since I drove it off the lot and the dealer claims that it's normal (although they've never driven my car before). Anybody have the same problems or can tell me what's going on? Thanks in advance.
Is it factory new or used. If its used then your one of many that listened to the dealer at a used car dealership and got sucked into the BS, id take it to a honda service center and ask "whats up, fix my sh**."
I actually bought it brand new with 6 miles on the odometer. Someone actually told me 1st gear is fussy for most Hondas and that my car is acting normal. Anybody else have an auto and feels a small jerk when braking to a stop at lights? Or do you guys think I really should tell the dealer to fix my ****?
Well I have a manual, and 3rd for honda is kinda rough. Although since it being hot where I live for awhile, I think the transmission has loosened up abit, and 3rd has been easy slip in for awhile. I dont know much about the autos, but if its that big of a jerk, take it to a service station and see what they can come up with
are you going from 2nd to 1st?? or from another gear??? and the dealer is right, it is normal, because the gears are moving faster than the gear your trying to go into, you either need to rev shift or double clutch , best solution though is, dont do it, and dont engine brake either, brakes are CHEAP engines and trannys are not
