I have an eBay shorty and it's done me good. You would have to attack the damn thing to break it.

what pisses me off is people bashing things without firsthand experience with it. I had an ebay short shifter for a long time and I had a B&M shifter and my bud has a skunk2, granted, the brand names are much nicer pieces, but the ebay worked just fine. They do break, but it is one in a thousand probably, just like any other part.

I'll have to disagree with you on this one...I have a cheapo ebay one, and it works great...now granted its no skunk2, but for the price, it was definetly worth it...

To answer the question about installation: It's really easy to install if you don't have a lot of rust underneath your car...

i've heard of many people getting by just fine with the ebay short shifter (Roto being an example), and i've also heard like 2 or 3 stories of them breaking, so if u care about taking the chance and being part of that .05% that has them break, spend the extra $$ on the B&M, or you could take a chance with the ebay and replace it with another $20 one if it breaks. Roto, StreetSniper and I have all had ebay short shifters and all of us are happy with them, i say dont worry about it, and honestly if it breaks, your really not down that much money ya know?
