yea i agree. If your down with the ebay ones, then get one. I just look into how much shorter the shifts get. TWM has some good shifters, and have a stage one and stage two.
Stage 1:
- 1.5" height reduction
- 40% throw reduction
Stage 2:
- 3" height reduction
- 55% throw reduction

Height reduction is only going to hinder performance..

i havea cheapo one that i got from the local autostore. have had it on for about a year and half, gone thru a bunch of races, and no problems at all. im extremely happy with it, esp since it cost $20. i suppose it would be equivalentto any "ebay" short throw shifter(ppl, ebay isnt the company that makes the product), so i'd say go for it. i figure so long as u dont go all nuts when shifting, it'll be alright.

I think the ebay ones are fine unless you like to shift hard. I heard of people breaking them because of the kind of metals used in the ebay ones are not as strong as the name brand ones. But if you shift pretty casually chances of it breaking are minimal.

Also the ball on the shifter (which reduces throw, time between gears) is a lot smaller on the ebay ones, if you still like a little roomin betweenshifts it might be a better idea to go with one that has a smaller one.

you have to unbolt the linkage buddy, don't try to force that ball up or down. Take the removable part of the linkage off and you'll be happy...

thanks for the reply...ended up figuring it out on my own, just a matter of taking it all in! the problem i've run into though which is sorta minor, is that the base of my new short shifter seems to be rubbing the top of the exhaust pipe just before the resonator...i've tightened all the bolts and it is as high up as it can go, any advice?

sometimes you need longer exhaust hangers to offset the new shifter))

I can say that I had the stage 2 and that shifter was lower than the consul pice where sat. With a shift **** it was like 2 inchs above it. But i loved it.
