considering the idea of installing a short shifter on my civic esi. what are the advantages of this over the stock setup aside from giving a "racy" feel?

does anyone have this same setup?

what are the disadvantages, if any?

it reduces the distance of the shift thus allowing you to shift faster. Its reduces it by like 40% or something.
