si/ex are your best bet....you can use 92-00 civic transmissions including the del sol, all bolt up the same way just slightly different internally. the d15b if im not mistaken is geared the same as the si and does have the option of lsd. and seeing that your using a b15b8(assuming its stock) swap the head out to the very least a d15b7 as your head is only an 8 vavle head. swapping to a 16 valve head will open your engine up.

I'm actually finishing up a d16z6 head swap right now... My clutch is the next step, I hate the feel of the stock clutch. And when I heard about the trans I figured that it might be worth it to do while I'm doing the clutch. But that definitely sounds like the way I'm going to go. Thanks for all the info...

the si has closer gear ratios which allow for faster acceleration and are good for high rpm n/a motors. longer gearing like a cx trans is for better economy and a broader power band like in a turboed car

yeah thats why i am lovennnnnnnnnnnnn my cx with turbo.

i believe the only difference between the EX and Si trannies is the fifth gear, so i like the EX one a little better since its got a slightly longer 5th gear, and should give you a little better economy on the highway.
