i have a 94 teg auto and it is competent but i would never bet a penny on it winning a race, i used to have a 93 altima and if memeory serves there was a *mysterey* connection behind the air box that if u disconnected this wire going into a modual it made the trans shifter hard and at higher revs and that added power, screwed the trans up in the long run and i dont know if honda has something like that. they might make shift kits for honda trans (just a guess) before i got into the hondas i used to mess with the old chevys and if you had a car with a th-350 trans u drop that pan put the shift kit in and adjust it just right and that added power but again not sure if they are out there for hondas.

it is rarely worth it to swap trans from auto to manual on anything but an old truck or muscle car. its a lot of work, you would have to locat and buy
shift linkage
new set of pedals
obviously a trans
an ecu (you might be able to get away with out it but it would throw a CEL)
possibly axles (i dunno what cvt would have)
clutch hydrolics

and it is a crazy lot of work, unless you can locate a donor car that you can take every nut and bolt off of it would be total hell for a novice mechanic but if you can find a shop they might be able to pull it off for 2-4g but im just pullin numbers out of my butt
