transmission ouestion

transmission ouestion

does anyone know what this is, could it be a vent hole. this is on a 2002 civic si hatchback, this hole is close to the shifter on the tranny. any help would be great, the dealership could not tell me what it is for

it's a vent hole, just missing the rubber cap

Thanks, that's what I thought it would be. Do you know if it would hurt anything not having one?

Just a breather and but also to keep water/debris from getting into the tranny, you can just use a hose and bend it downward.
