^ Unorthodox Racing pulleys only underdrive the accessories by 10-13%, they are the same size as OEM, their gains come from being lighter. Also no matter what anyone says the Honda SOHC motors do not have any kind of harmonic balancer, so no the pulleys will not hurt your engine any more than any other performance mod you make.
no i have a z6 in my car and the crank has a harmonic balancer on it from the factory. my 1.5 did not. honda tuning even did an article on the draggin wagin where the stock damper was ruined so they used a stock 1.5 crank pulley until they got a new harmonic balancer.

This was taken from AEM's website regarding there pulley kit:

With this kit you won’t have to worry about ruining your engine because this kit doesn't replace the harmonic dampener which is the crankshaft pulley. In other kits that replace the crankshaft pulley there is major engine problems that occur after about 15,000 miles.

What you've got is the crankshaft pulley, I wouldn't recommend installing it because, A it's a no name company, and B after all the stuff I read about it. That's just my .02 though, it's your car.

1.6 and 1.7 SOHC engines have harmonic balancers, 1.5's do not. I'm not sure of the JDM D15B though...so unless you have a 1.5 I wouldn't install a crank pulley. Accessory pulleys are ok though

Rebuild your alt for a high power application and than use that kit...
Wouldn't that be counter productive? You installing a pulley that turns the alt pulley slower, but you are rebuilding the alternator so it makes more power (which will require it to take more engine power)

Actually that will benefit him anyway...since even the slower turning amp will put out more amps than stock (and that should be done anyway with a lot of electronics) but it will not drag on the engine as much...plus the pulleys look nice

once again bringing a thread back from the dead........1.6 engines have the harmonic balancers but the 1.5 dont, so then what about if someone does a mini me? i'm assuming since just the head is being changed that putting the 1.6 head on a 1.5 block, you could still install the unorthadox pulley without any harm right? like a d15b7 block with a d16y8 head. i just want to be sure before anything is purchased.

Everyone is going to tell you they will kill your engine. There are people on here who have been running them for a couple years and no problems. It really boils down to if you want them or not. I personally do not feel they will kill your engine if you install them correctly.

I considered getting the alternator pulley also.. only because (a) i have a 2.5 farad cap for my amp which keeps it from draining my battery hardcore.. and (b) i removed my ac and have no power steering.. so my only acc.. are my stereo and gauges.. lights..but a friend of mine had one in his camaro and at low idle i notice his lights dim etc..
