Question using a 90 ls trans on 98 gsr motor????

could i use a 90 integra trans (cable) on a 98 gsr motor w/o having to change out the flywheel... and do i really need a pilot baring cause for some reason if the 98 gsr flywheel is in the 90 ls trans will not work... it is going in to a 90 civic hatch so i have to use cable... is the input shaft on tha 90 trans different in size compared to the orginal gsr trans help me out guys... need to get the damn car done soon
