Default what manual trans fluid to use?

i just though of this and want to ask u guys and see what yall think

ok, i have heard from many ppl that u can run 10w30 motor oil in them

when i worked at the honda dealership everyone there said not to run the motor oil in the trans, they said to run the honda manual trans fluid in it.

i have the 97 service manual from the shop i used to work at and it says to only run the motor oil in it temporarley not parmanent. andto run the

honda fluid in it

i just want to here what yall have to say, or if u have used motor oil and not had any problems...if so what kinda oil would u run. reg oil,

avg synthetic, high dollar synthetic somthing like royal purple be better

i run cheap oil in mine. synthetic is too much money. i also ran honda genuine fluid. i never noticed a difference. and in the owners manual it says 10w30 is also allowed.

you won't "notice" anything with just a slight change like that, and i would recommend HTF, but everyone has their own opinion, royal purple is a great brand

From everything I've read the Honda fluid breaks down pretty quick, about 10k-15k miles. I used synthetic 5W-30 for a change, but decided that was too expensive. Regular 10W-30 is what I would reccomend.
