i run cheap oil in mine. synthetic is too much money. i also ran honda genuine fluid. i never noticed a difference. and in the owners manual it says 10w30 is also allowed.

i wasnt changing mine, when i do i put the honda fluid in it, i just wanted to ask and see what others used and had to say about it to see if something was better, and if any one used plain motor oil
From everything I've read the Honda fluid breaks down pretty quick, about 10k-15k miles. I used synthetic 5W-30 for a change, but decided that was too expensive. Regular 10W-30 is what I would reccomend.
