Si Jonny 04-14-2006, 11:30 PM Thats way off. The VTEC should engage at about 5100 rpm. ficodecko 04-15-2006, 12:10 AM hmm thats what i thought...its consistant in every gear i wonder ifi got the right wire... slvcivic00 04-15-2006, 01:05 PM what did you hook the vtec light into? davidjcomeaux 04-16-2006, 12:32 PM A newbie question. I kind of have an idea about what VTEC is but I'm not so sure. Most likely I assume that my civic doesn't have VTEC or I'd have more knowledge about it. Does it give the engine more power? If so would I be able to get VTEC on my ride, is it something you can install? How much would it be? My civic is a 2003 LX model. slvcivic00 04-17-2006, 01:17 PM If your civic has the stock motor in it then no, it does not have vtec. Do a search for vtec on this forum to find the video that exlpains how vtec works. I could explain it to you but pictures or video in this case speak a thousand words. As far as adding it to your car I'm not sure. 6th gen civics like mine you can do mini me swaps (add vtec head) but I have never heard of doing one on your car. To swap to a D17 vtec engine from an EX civic would probably cost around 2k but I am not sure. Do some research on hear, you will find some good stuff.;) Forty04 04-18-2006, 08:46 AM ORIGINAL: davidjcomeaux A newbie question. I kind of have an idea about what VTEC is but I'm not so sure.
