01 CIVIC EX CHECK ENGINE LIGHT VTEC WON'T ENGAGE HELP!!
Hello,
I have a 2001 honda civic ex 4dr 5speed with 59k on it. Recently I have been having trouble with the "check engine light" coming on almost every day now. When the check engine light comes on, almost 95% of the time, I cannot go past 4000RPM. It feels like the car is running out of gas when I try to go past 4000RPM. It hesitates and makes a stuttering sound and the vtec won't engage. This happened to me about two weeks ago and I simply pulled the main fuse of the car and then reset the computer. It worked fine for about two days and now the problem seems to happen everyday. I'll just be driving around and all of a sudden the check engine light is on and I can't go past 4000rpm it sucks.
Can anyone please help me with this problem because the honda place won't.

Also, I recently put a K&N Short Ram/Cold Air Intake on it, so perhaps this could have something to do with the problem.
The only upgrades that I have on the car are the intake, tokico suspension, strut bars, and a very nice stereo.

The o2 sensor is the connector on the side of my intake right? If so, then yes I think I put it back correctly. I also disconnected it and plugged it back in to see if that could be the problem.

I don't know how to pull the code with the paper clip method or whatever so I'm going to bring it to advanced auto parts and have them connect to the ecu and I'll tell you guys what the code is. I hope this isn't going to cost me a lot to fix, whatever the problem is.
