Help. Im confused.
Okay so i had a high idle. Sacs said it sounded like air in the coolant system. I had it flushed with a machine @ jiffy lube. Still messed up. It just idles at like 1500. Then if i put it in park it goes from 1-1500 constantly. I have a pretty new PCV valve. Do the TPS sensors go out on hondas? The car runs okay but this idle s**t is driving me up the wall. Any ideas? My vacuum lines seem to be doing just fine.......no leaks in any of the T connectors.
Air in the coolant will cause a high idle? Hmm, learn something new every day.
It could be as simple as the throttle cable. If I beat on the Super D, sometimes the pedal/cable will stick a little. Check the tension.
I would think if it was the pcv, it would idle up and down. I thought boost and pcv didn't mix?
I would check all of the vacuum line again. Start pulling them one at a time.

yea but what am i checking for? Should i just disconnect my 2 T Connectors and use new see if that changes anything? I guess ill get a new PCV valve and see if that fixes er? Its just driving me nuts. Go figure its doing this after i F**ked with the coolant system
how do i do that?......i originaly thought thats what the problem was. I put in a 160 Degree thermostat, and someone told me it would retard the timing.........but after i put the 160 in the car ran like crap, so i went back to the stock one. Then i said "Well if the 160 retards the timing, can the ECU advance it when it sees the 190"? But i thought the thermostat cant retard the timing? I figured it could, because of the sensors down by the thermo......im pretty sure they do something? Right? So sacs how exactlly do i go about checking the timing? I wanna get this fixed. If i use my remote start in the morning for this frigid jersey weather i can hear the damn car going "RMmmm rrrmmmm rrrrrmm" and it makes me angry cuz i dump $$$ into this thing and it aint running right
If there are any vacuum leaks on anything connected to the intake manifold, after all of the intake sensors (IAT, MAP), it'll make idling weird. Also, if you have a missing link make sure the o-rings and the little foam filter are all in place.
I am not sure if the other's here would recommend this but the way I was taught to check for vacuum leaks is to take some carb cleaner and spray it around the hoses and connectors and see if the idle speed changes. If it changes when you spray in a certain spot, you've found your vacuum leak. Hope that helps.
