im new to the whole turbo kit thing and i just wanted to know what made them so different for a SOHC engine (00 Civic EX) and a DOHC engine (00 Civic Si). and also... would it just be easier and cheaper to piece one together myself or just buy a complete one? I have 00 EX coupe.... THANKS!

 

really the only difference is the exhaust manifold is different between the sohc and the dohc and possibly the downpipe...

 

IMHO, It's cheaper and more beneficial to you to piece your own kit together. It basically forces you to do all the possible research and learn everything you can about turbos, before just jumping into the project. Too many people call Greddy, order the kit, bring their car to a shop for the install, then pretend they know everything about boost. I've learned so much over the past 6 months getting everything together for my kit, I wouldnt have had it any other way.
