EK Swaps - vtec add-on?View Full Version : vtec add-on? sneekapeek 06-17-2004, 12:44 PM was curious if anyone knew whether it was possible to put vtec on my current 1.6 sohc in my dx hatch... if so what's involved in terms of price and labor. thanks in advance. peace nate NTX 06-17-2004, 04:00 PM It's possible to ad vtec by using parts from an EX. Price will be determined on where you get the parts. A dismantler is a good place to go. If your handy with tools, you could do the swap by yourself...if not....i'd figure you could have the work done for a few hundred. If you just want the 1.6L SOHC VTEC engine, it's not hard to find & it shouldn't cost that much either. Well, that's another option for you:) 99civic_boosted 06-21-2004, 03:48 PM ORIGINAL: NYC Civic I think it's better if you just do a motor swap.
