Default Turbo Size

What does the T like a t4 turbo in turbo stand for? Is it the size I'm guessing? Also what does size difference in turbochargers make a difference in. I know there are like huge turbos and then really smalls ones. What's the difference.

the T has nothing to do with the size.

the T is just a tag some manufactors put on the name of them. Mitsu styles turbos do not have a T before them(14b, 16g, 18g, 20g)

Size means everything. You get a turbo that is big and it will make more power but will also need more exhaust pressure to turn the turbine therefore it will take away from low end response and torque. You get a turbo that is small and it will hit full boost early and not make as much peak hp but if it is to small you will run out of it's effeciancy range there for after a certain rpm it will stop making more power and actully start blowing heat soaked air. It's a balancing act, get a turbo that will spool early enough to make usable power on the street but not run out of ***** before you shift for a street car. Bigger engines spool bigger turbo's quicker and smaller engines require a turbo to be able to sustain itself untill you shift in the high rpms
