Default Setup for my car?

Hi. I recently bought a 2001 Honda Civic LX, with 100k miles on it, for 5k (not too bad). I bought it about a month ago, fully stock, and a nice 5-speed . Anyways.

As for intake, I know i'm going to go with AEM V2 Intake. So theres no questioning that, unless someone can persuade me about something else.

Regarding headers/exhaust, I heard with the LX models it'll be difficult because I can't put headers on a LX, or something? Or if I did, I would have to do something special to make it fit..? From what i've researched around the forum, and other sites. So if someone could please clarify that for me.. I've been getting really confused lately, i've been searching eBay for some parts and stuff, and they seem really cheap, but I don't know if I should buy a exhaust off of eBay because some don't seem too "top of the line", but.. I figured, if it gets the job done, why not? Also, do you think its a good idea to buy performance parts off eBay? I've seen some headers and stuff that said like "blah blah Cat-back exhaust for LX models" and thought "...Is this right?" because of the above statement.

If someone can guide me in the right direction about this, so I can safefully search for parts and know exactly what the deal is with the LX header/exhaust issue, i'd appreciate the help .

Yeah, I read some of them, but I just wanted some more clarification, if possible.

I have an LX as well. I got a 98 for 2500 bucks. The HEADER...not headerS.... is welded to the cat converter. You would want to get a header and have the cat welded to it. Its like one big piece. The muffler shop near me said they could make anything I brought them work so just ask around who will do what work for you. The Apexi N1 is also really loud and really annoying on long rides. Might want to look into something a little quieter. Ebay is good as long as you have a set brand your looking for. Buying "Ebay" unknown brand parts is not safe or smart. Springs/coils, mufflers, and other unknown ebay items are crap. The mufflers sound likea coffee can after a month and the springs have crazy uneven and inconsistant rates. So you shouldnt look to "get the job done"

yep exactly. the cat is welded to the exhaust manifold, so you would have to get a header, downpipe and catback to make it all work. well you can do just the header/downpipe, but if you have those 2, why not pick up a nice catback too?
