I have 2 12' type R and the mrd-m500 pushing them. Now I have them in a box at about 1.2cf. I would like the bass to be tight. Any sugestions on maybe reducing the box size or anything, I am not too sure what specs really make them shine.

Sealed box, .85 cubic feet each.

 

Do what Meangreen said and make it sealed. If you are making the box sealed, KEEP EACH SUB IN ITS OWN CHAMBER. Otherwise the two will literally fight themselves to the death, and they will be out of phase.

That is nice amp, I just got a 501. Let me know how yours sounds when your done. What are your settings on it?

 

I like the amp alot I started with a mrd-m300 and decided to stick wih alpine. Not too much advice on settings, I am still trying to figure that out especially since I switched to a sealed box.
