Amp Setup???
I have 2 12" type r's in my 93 civic hatch powered be the Mrd-M500. The box is sealed with each sub in its own chamber at about 1cf. I could really use some help on finding the best settings for my amp. If anyone has some advice it would help greatly.
Alot of dumb *** people think the phase, the x-bass, and the volume needs to be jacked all the way up... very very wrong... the result is crap bass like that you would get out of a damn Pyle sub. Now, for the best, smoothest sounding bass, turn the phase all the way down... to 0 or less if you amp will do it. Then set the x-bass mid way. Last set your volume 3/4 the way up... your end result will be smooth tight chest thumping bass. That is really one of the best ways to tune a sealed box. Also, for even more smoother bass, grab a 1.0 Farad battery capacitor (ie, cap, farad). Enjoy
by phase do you mean treble? on my settings i have, bass, treble, balance, and rear/front
my amp is turned to the highest, maybe im not doing it right, heres a pic of my amp, can you tell me what my settings should be on too?
Sorry Orange, dont mean to butt in, I'm just curious too.

You know Remmie I have a way I tune my subs in. I kill all the gain/bass boost/hz I get the rest of the car speakers at proper listening level and then I turn each gain up individually based on the level of bass I want. Usually gains up 3/4,boost 1/2, Hz just below 100(about90-95) , I am in a hatch though so bass bounce is not a prob however in a sedan gains may need to be higher to fight materials in trunk.
I find this works for most amps with applicable accessories for these adjustments.
Just a thought.

I gotcha imadj... yea, ive got to deal with trunk pressure.. youve got open space... you hear bass better.
corey... i was talking about sub applications... if you are using that amp for subs, set in on low pass and trun the treble all the way down... really n a nut shell, just tinker with it until you think it sounds good, teat it by sitting in your front seat or getting someone to help you so you dont have to run back and forth.
